Dufailly christian church

The Dufailly Christian Church began in May, 2004 as a result of the mission work of Kendall and Yvrose Johnson. During that time, approximately 30 adults were attending each Sunday under a shelter located outside of Kendall and Yvrose's home. On Saturdays, Yvrose would invite the children to attend a one day Vacation Bible School and would provide a meal having them promise that they would return the next day for church. Today, many of those same children are still attending Dufailly Christian Church. In 2005, Brother Soulouque joined Dufailly Christian Church as the preacher for this body of believers. In February 2009, one of Mission Journey's mission teams went to Haiti to help in the construction of a nice concrete block building that became the new home of the Dufailly Christian Church.

"Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hand on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, 'Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.' " -Matthew 19:13-14

The mission of Vacation Bible School(VBS) at Dufailly Christian Church is to build relationships with children through Christ and present the Gospel by methods that further their understanding of God's word. The Word is shared with the children of the Dufailly area through lessons, skits, crafts, games and music.

VBS is typically for fiver days ending on a Saturday, which allows for a longer day with snack and game time. Children of all ages come to hear the Word and by the end of most VBS weeks as many as 200 children are present. It is truly a testament to His promise of how God provides, not only multiplying the number of children but also the items we have to share with them.

After each week of VBS, prayers are lifted up that the seeds sown will find fertile soil. We pray that each child will search for the loving relationship extended by Jesus Christ and be transformed into new people accepting salvation. Through baptism and the rejection of former departures, we pray that these children are able to resist Satan and all his evil schemes flourishing in life from the knowledge that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.We acknowledge that God is in the process of transforming not only these children that we come into contact with at VBS, but each and every one of us.

"And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in My name welcomes Me. -Matthew 18:3-6.
